Annual Race Draws in More Than $25,000 for United Way

On Monday, May 30, 500 participants and 100 volunteers came together for the third annual Color Us United race held at Tuscarawas County Fairgrounds. The family-friendly event raised more than $25,000 for United Way of Tuscarawas County.

“This event exceeded our expectations,” said Robin Waltz, President of United Way of Tuscarawas County. “It is through the generosity and community spirit of participants and volunteers that the United Way of Tuscarawas County is able to use the Color Us United proceeds to provide funding to 24 vital health and human services for our residents in need.”

The non-competitive 2k race – sponsored by DoverPhila Federal Credit Union and other local organizations – promotes a healthy lifestyle while raising awareness and funds for the support of issues in our community. Participants wear white shirts to experience the full-effect of the various color stations strategically placed throughout the race route.

United Way is a local nonprofit organization with one goal in mind – improving the community. By partnering with area organizations, United Way can make this goal a reality. The monetary donations go towards providing children with a better future, creating a healthier community, and helping people in crisis.

United Way is thankful for all participants and volunteers who helped make the third annual Color Us United a success. For more information or to donate to United Way, call 330-343-7772 or visit
